The Pomona Group Service is a transportation program sponsored by the City of Pomona and operated by the Pomona Valley Transportation Authority. It is open to the general public and available to groups of six or more rides.
The Group Service operates 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday-Friday and 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Expanded weekday hours are available during the Summer, contact the reservation office (909) 596-7664 for further information.
All trips using the Group Service must begin within the City of Pomona. Groups may travel from Pomona to any location within the four cities of Claremont, La Verne, Pomona and San Dimas. Groups transported by the Group Service outside Pomona may request a return trip.
Group Service costs $.50 per one way trip and $.75 for a roundtrip.
The service can be used by any group of six or more riders traveling from a single origin or a single destination. All group trips must originate within the City of Pomona. Riders can travel from a single origin to multiple destinations if those destinations are within the program’s service area and can be served by a vehicle within 45 minutes.
Similarly, groups of six or more sharing the same destination can have multiple origins if the entire trip requires 45 minutes or less travel time.
NOTE: Group Service is subject to limited capacity. Group travel requests will be served on a space available basis. The reservation center may require your group to adjust pick up and drop off times in order to accommodate their requests.
Groups may reserve rides with a minimum of one week’s notice. Service is available on a first come, first served basis.
NOTE: Service capacity is limited and so reservations will be accepted on a space available basis. The reservation office may ask you to adjust your travel times in order to accommodate your ride.
Riders five (5) years old or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Riders less than six (6) years old and sixty pounds must ride in a car seat. Riders must provide car seats. PVTA does not provide car seats.
